Apple ChatRoulette – 1-888-FACETIME

Tell you what, Apple’s iPhone 4 FaceTime public test line will spur imitation sites to hook up random strangers via video call. Mark my words.

Still, thank you Apple, for allowing me to try this feature because none of my buddies have an iPhone 4 yet.

And thanks, Apple contact center employee Ali, for putting up with the terrible lighting in my home office and being such a helpful FaceTimer!

Some things to keep in mind when using this feature:

  • FaceTime has to be enabled: Settings > Phone > FaceTime
  • Call ID has to be on: Settings > Phone > Show My Caller ID
  • During the video call you may move your thumbnail to any four corners.
  • During the video call you may press the Home button to put FaceTime in the background (obviously then you won’t see video, but your home screen).
