Dell Streak finally gets official release date

Dell’s half-tablet, half-smartphone device, originally slated for release in late July, but then suddenly delayed until “later this summer,” has, at last, received an official US launch date. The Streak will be available for pre-order starting August 12, and hits stores August 13th, Dell announced Tuesday. The highly-awaited hybrid device, which has been available in the UK since early July, will finally make its debut in the States later this week. Well, that is, assuming the company doesn’t decide to delay it one more time the day before release.

For those still waiting for a white iPhone? Don’t hold your breath; the white iPhone 4 leaked earlier this week turned out to be a fake, and the poor thing has been pushed back not once but twice; not until “later this summer,” but “later this year.”
