We have one at home and i know some people who are in need of a home phone system but can’t afford it.  Would be a great way to pay it forward.

I’ve got an Obi100 and I’ve got to say that it’s the best technology-related investment I’ve made in quite some time. I get TERRIBLE cell reception at home, and ever since I’ve purchased my Obi100, I’m no longer concerned about dropped client calls, teleconferences I’m on, calls with family, etc.  Plus, I no longer have a monthly landline bill.

Having already used an Obihai product for months, I think that this would be an EXCELLENT gift for someone that uses Google Voice as extensively like I do. What better gift than to save someone money over and over again?

because it will be not just a gift of one taste, but with endless enjoyable aftertaste of communication with my beloved parents.

The OBi110 would be a great gift for slightly techie types like me who have an Asterisk server and need an inexpensive but reliable way to make a connection to an old-fashioned telephone company landline.  As a bonus the SAME OBi110 can also be used as a bridge to one or two Google Voice account(s) (more reliably than by using Asterisk’s Gtalk channel driver), and the phone port on the device can be used as an extension off the Asterisk server if you like.  Of course if you don’t have your own phone server, these devices are still quite useful as a way to access one or two Google Voice accounts (or one or two sip-based accounts from certain commercial VoIP providers) WITHOUT the need to leave a computer running 24/7, as is required with some other devices.

The OBi110 would be a great gift for me because I would love nothing more than to eliminate another Comcast product from my statement.

I’m too late but I just wish I could figure out if the obi would work for me. Wish they would hire a writer who could speak in non-techie talk.

What’s your question about the Obi? We will try to help (in non-techie talk, of course)!
