Are you serious? A 3D phone?!?! After playing with the Sprint HTC EVO 3D smartphone, I actually found myself turning off the 3D feature. The 3D feature requires you to view at a certain angle and distance to get the optimal view. Even though it beats wearing 3D glasses, I don’t see much need for this feature on a phone.

The HTC Evo 3D Android smartphone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon dual-core chip clocking at 1.2 GHz. Here are some of the key specs:
- Runs on Android 2.3 (Gingerbread)
- Allows you to run on Sprint’s 4G and 3G network
- Packs a dual 5 MP camera for 2D or 3D picture and video
- Bluetooth connectivity
- Works as a mobile hotspot (but requires additional service fees)
- Bright vivid 4.3 inch HD display
- Memory expansion up to 32 GB via microSD
The touch screen on the HTC EVO 3D is very responsive. Going from one screen to another was very smooth. Launching apps and checking emails were super fast (thanks to the dual-core CPU and Sprint’s coverage). I was really impressed. The Android platform seems very customizable than the Apple iPhone. You can load different themes to personalize the phone to your liking.
The EVO 3D sits at 5″ x 2.6″ x 0.47″. It is definitely one of the bigger smartphones on the market and probably the heaviest (6.0 ounces). I personally prefer the heavier phones because it gives it a nice feel in my palms. Even with its huge battery, I still have to charge this phone at least once a day. The talk time on this phone is advertised at six hours, but with the Facebooking and web surfing, the battery life is closer to the four hour range.
Pros:
- Android 2.3 and dual-core chip allows apps to run super fast
- Bright Vivid Screen
- Allows for memory expansion
- Big buttons
- Highly customizable
Cons:
- Short battery life
- Only 5MP picture quality. Would rather have one 10MP camera than two 5MP cameras in the back.
Overall, great phone with great features. If you are in the market for a smartphone, this is one you should definitely consider. Sprint is lucky to have landed this phone from HTC. It is currently available for $100 with a two-year contract.
